My recipe for gluten-free pizza

Well, it’s about time you had something good to eat! At the moment I’m making my pizzas using either Sainsbury’s Freefrom pizza bases (currently £1.84 for 1) or Dietary Specials pizza bases (Currently £3.09 for 2 on their website, but I usually get them for about £2.99 in Asda).

Either of these are great products, but don’t buy Tesco’s Freefrom bases. They’re tiny- I made the mistake of buying them online where you can’t tell what size they are and they break really easily.

When I get a chance to make a base from scratch, I will try to post the recipe for you.

Speedy tomato sauce

1 small onion

1 tin chopped tomatoes (Basics work just fine and are great if you’re on a budget!)

1 tablespoon tomato puree

pinch each of salt and pepper

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1)Peel and chop the onion

2)Heat a small amount of oil in a suacepan and fry the onion over a low heat for a few minutes

3)Add the other ingredients and cook the mixture over a low heat for about 15 mins

4)Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before spreading over your base. Make sure you get it all the way to the edges, or your pizza will be very crisp!

5)Grate some cheddar cheese over your topping

6)Add other desired toppings- I like Value Mozerella, but it depends what we have in the house. Be inventive and ENJOY!

7)Cook pizza base in the oven according to pack instructions et voila! 🙂
